What is your CrossFit Story?

As a kid I was never really into sports.  My athletic career began as an accident after a doctor suggested I take up swimming to help with my scoliosis.  Not only did it help cure it, but I fell in love with being active.  I was skinny and got bullied in school, so I took up martial arts.  I practiced Karate for 11 years and obtained my black belt in Kyokushin.  I loved feeling healthy and strong so I decided to take up body building.  A few years after that I saw a CrossFit competition online and really wanted to try it.  At the time I was living in Chicago and there were no CrossFit gyms near me yet.  So, I started doing CrossFit on my own before moving to Tucson and finally joining my first box!  That first day I fell in love with not only CrossFit, but it’s community.  I was instantly hooked.  I love how no matter where you are, there is always something new to learn and master in CrossFit.  It is never boring!

What's your favorite part about coaching?

My favorite part about coaching is helping people believe in themselves and helping them realize their true potential. By helping them reach  their goals at the gym I believe I can help them reach their goals outside the gym.
