What is your Weightlifting story?
I began weightlifting in 2007! Before that, I was a competitive gymnast for 10 years but by 2007 I was burnt out and injured from it. My physical therapist at the time persuaded me to give weightlifting a try because gymnasts make great weightlifters. He showed me video of the soon-to-be 2008 Olympians Natalie Burgener and Carissa Gump, who he also worked with, and I was inspired! I wanted to keep competing in something so I gave it a try and loved it. I am now on a mission to make the 2020 Olympic team!

Seeing people grow in strength and confidence

Any advice for beginners?
Weightlifting is for everyone! Don't expect to learn the lifts overnight though. It takes hard work and perseverance, but once you put in the time the reward of getting stronger and hitting big lifts is completely worth it!
